Same marketing that GF uses and it looks like they also want to sell you their materials......
My Weike LG900N with Reci W2 tube has been doing production work for close to 3 years now and never missed a beat.
Buy a machine with a Ruida controller, get Lightburn and buy a camera for that.
I've read other reports about issues with Trotec machines. Apparently they switched laser source supplier and the new brand has a higher failure rate compared to what they used before (can't recall...
I have machines from both and have no complaints about either of them.
Bill, link doesn't work for me either. I think it works for you because it is cached on your PC.
Todd, what you find if you spend some hours searching and reading is just what you are asking for -...
If you are running Cypcut, using "cooling points" on sharp corners will help avoid burning when you cut mild steel with oxygen.
That is perfectly normal when cutting mild steel with oxygen. You cannot have walls thinner than the thickness of the sheet without running the risk of burn-through. If you need the fine detail you...
Sorry, not familiar with US bottle sizes. A 50L bottle is the biggest we can get in Denmark. Weighs 67kg when full. Holds app. 10cbm nitrogen. Cost $38 for a refill and they charge me no rent. These...
I spent 1.5 days with the engineer and we cut a variety of sheet thicknesses in steel, stainless and brass. Used very little oxygen and less than 1/4 bottle of nitrogen. These are 50L bottles. 10...
I have one - it IS nice to have :)
BTW, there is no 80% duty on anything (besides vehicles). I just imported a fiber laser from China and duty was 4.5%. However the postal service will charge a fee to do the Customs clearance.
I live in Denmark. I don't have CNC routers but lasers both for cutting wood/plastic and metal. There are a couple of reasonably active Danish CNC groups on Facebook.
Here is one of them:...
Are you planning to buy off Ebay? I would advise against it. Better to buy direct from the manufacturer/assembler. They will fit any size tube you ask for.
You are better off with a smaller wattage tube for engraving. Spot size and strike point on a 130W tube might not give a good result. 80W seems to be a good compromise between cutting and engraving...
My workshop can reach freezing temps in winter. I keep the coolant water circulating all the time and have an 80W aquarium heater in the water tank. That keeps the temp above 10C.
That is the peak power it will fire at. Mine is about the same. In daily use you should not push it above 32 mA.
I have a 1kW fiber laser with 1300x2500mm cutting area on its way here from China. USD 36800 excluding shipping and duty. Included in the cost is a visit from a technician who will install the...
I have a 1kW fiber laser with 1300x2500mm cutting area on order from China. It should be heading my way soon. It cost USD 37,000. It should be able to cut up to 10mm steel (albeit not very fast).
I'm not sure what I find to be the worst thing here - that it caught fire or that you can run a job that takes 4 hours(!!!) on a machine that small.
Interesting, didn't know that. Can we have the islands back please. It's too bloody cold here in the winter (I live in Denmark).
I guess they are looking to expand business in Europe. I just received an agent request - possibly from the same vendor you did.
You get the pleasure of paying VAT on the laser AND the shipping cost :)
This, and other reports/posts I have read about the GF makes it sound almost as if lasers didn't exist before GF.
I found this amusing: "when a clearly pained Glowforge co-founder and CEO Dan...
