Nice job, like the idea of using hold fast, but do they get in the way?

Mike, well done!! It is a beauty. Make sure you sign and date it, I'm sure this will be pasted down as a family treasure.

I use the Freud Glue Line Rip 30T, makes very clean cuts. I do not cross cut with it, but have cut tenon shoulders with very good results.

That's a nice looking stack of wood. You do not need a lot of high tech tools to build your roubo. Mortises can be done with a 10 dollar brace and bits from ebay or a local antique shop, a spade bit...
Mine is 4". Is your ash 8/4 (2" thick)?
This was my project while on vacation in December. I drive a semi so I'm only home 33 to 40 days a year, so most anything takes forever to complete. Top and legs are SYP, stretchers and leg vise red...
Folks around here use white oak for shed and barn siding, it weathers good with little to no finish on it and is cheaper. Laminate it for the legs and top to keep the cost down.

Jim,
Thanks for all the great info on what to look for and avoid on ebay.
Thanks for the info. Also ordered mine with the curly maple handle, looking forward to getting it in about 10-12 weeks.
Ron,
Its been a few months now, how is your dovetail saw holding up? While looking for info on saws read your post and liked the idea of the handle being sized to your hand. Got with Ed this past...
