Hey Ron,
I haven't been on in a while and missed it "by that much" too. If you would like, I'd be interested in a swap.

Hey Ron,
I haven't been on in a while and missed it "by that much" too. If you would like, I'd be interested in a swap.
Outstanding work John... when my wife saw the picture, she said the same thing Jeff did, "Hey, those look like lava lamps, only prettier".. :)
Oh wow! Those are outstanding! Love the one in the back with the heartwood running through it and the movement enhanced it...
That is great! Looks like the jar from the book and the laser work just adds the perfect touch. The hospice projects are very satisfying. I make Native American flutes and have donated quite a lot...
Oh man... I should check the posts more frequently!!! A chance to get some really cool wood from Kathy :) I'm gonna have to go with 42 - the answer to life, the universe and everything ;)
Oh My!!! I keep looking and looking and every time see something else in that piece... what isn't going on with that piece of wood... tiger striping, burl, bark inclusions.. and of course Kathy, you...
As much as it pains me, I have to disagree with John... I like the handles... I've been on a handles binge for a while now. I love the bowl and I really like where you're going with banding and...
Super form and finish Steve... and that wood... Wow!!!! you could stare at that for hours and still not see it all. That is a busy burl :)
Oh man... see what you did now Kathy!!! My wife saw the Christmas lights and wants a string... "How long of a string dear?".... "You know... like the ones on the house... that long".... we'll see. ...
I love the "make do or do without" generation. My wifes grandfather was just like this guy and was truly amazing to work in the shop with. I grew up in construction, but I learned more about shop...
Impressive, Unbelievable, Fantastic, Wow... I just can't think of enough words of praise for the work you do Kathy...
Mike,
Absolutely awesome work... I could stare at that English Oak platter for hours. The Radiolarian has to be one of the coolest things I think I've seen turned... outstanding stuff.
Very cool... I love the eccentric handles... spatulae ( :) ) were one of the first things I did when I got my Jet mini years ago and I'm still doing them to this day... favorite woods for them are...
That looks like a fun find... and the boxes turned out great. Need to get back in the shop and get some cranked out for Christmas.
Cool thread, made me go look up Amphora to see what they looked like... I might try a doing an amphoriskoi (little amphorae)... making contrasting handles might add to the fun also.
This Bill is going to agree with the "Wyko" Bill and suggest cutting off the top... it's a beautiful piece of walnut and the form is still pleasing as a bowl...
Big congrats Kathy... Love seeing the stuff you turn...
Mornin' all... finally got the pictures ready to post so I could tell about my new Stihl MS290 FarmBoss w/ 20" bar. This is the first "real" chainsaw I've owned (had a couple pawn shop buys and a...
Great list Mike... I've got quite a few items on it :) . The red handled tools were a great inexpensive starter set, I used them for several years and still use both of the skews.
I am really diggin' these pieces Charlie... whole new take on things to do with a lathe.
James, that has to be the coolest of the steam punk pens that I've seen (do not believe it is too cluttered at all). I showed it to my wife, she loves it, but told me if I touch her watches, she'll...
:) That is a beautiful bowl, but I have to say that when I first saw the thumbnail pictures (I was looking at them on my iPad, so they were small), I was thinking "oh my, I wonder why she left all...
Wow James, that's pretty slick... the ingenuity and talent of the folks here never ceases to amaze me :)
Bill
Thank you again all :) the pendants are a lot of fun... I would have done some more today, but the weather was way to nice, so we got the wing out and went for a ride.
Cheryl - I first saw these...
Charlie - Thank you sir, please use the design (just do it better than I did :) ). If you are using a pendant jig, the horizontal line under the stone is cut with everything still on center... the...
