Mine's a hand-tool only shop, unless you count my bench grinder, only used to do rough grinding of blades. Otherwise, not even an electric drill.

Grind rough bevel on a Baldor bench grinder with a Veritas toolrest; hone on Norton water stones, sometimes freehand, sometimes with a LV MKII.

I have the ECE block plane, a LV block plane, and an LN block plane. The ECE and the LV sit on the shelf.

I have the Bluespruce chisels, and a set of the LN mortise chisels -- different beast, I know, but (I think) the same handle and overall size as their bevel-edge cousins.

Both are spectacularly...

Well, not really. If you rub the two stones together so the bumps on one slide around and the bumps on the other slide around, pretty soon all the bumps on both are worn off...and both stones are...

(1) wood movement: the roubo bench, for example, achieves its solidity at the expense of accomodating wood movement -- so 24" of vertical grain wood provides a quarter inch...
