I use my coffee grinder to grind down to an Espresso grind. That way it's REAL fine and I mix with 2-part epoxy and just pack it into any cracks that need it.
Nice work! I love walnut.
Nice Job! I really like the grain!
The risk that I heard from using fluorescent bulbs is due to the stop-action effect it can have on spinning sawblades etc.
With a lot of noise in a shop there may be a tendency to get too close...
I was able to rescue a 10' section of track lighting with 5 lights on it that were being thrown away.
I mounted it over my workbench/lathe area and I pointed two of the lights down at either side...
Ok, so I finally got around to trying my hand at an HF. Thought I'd start with a vase out of some of the walnut I got from a friend last winter.
I know what you guys mean when you say LIGHT cuts...
Almost sounds like the bar is not staying aligned with the motor and when you tip it to the side, the links come out of the slot in the bar, causing the rest of the chain to follow.
Does the Bar...
How much slack do you have in the chain?
Definitely don't want to run it like that....
Sears can provide manuals, I've ordered them before. With the exact model number of your saw, you can probably do it online.

What kind of problems are you having?
Very nicely done!
I found that if I use a VERY sharp skew with the point down and alternately work towards and away from the base, I can get a smooth cut all the way down to a very small nib that I end up taking off...
You're getting shocked because the item you are buffing is taking on a static charge and you are standing on an insulating layer of rubber, essentially turning yourself into a big capacitor.

Your first bowl sure looks better than my first bowl! Nice job! Keep up the good work!
I was wondering how hackberry was to turn. I've got lots of them in the area and I'll keep an eye out for some.
Nice job on the HF. Looks great.
Perry,
Some acronyms tend to be contextual in nature. Some are truly acronyms and others are just 'Blog shorthand' so you don't have to type as much.
Can you expand on what the acronym was...
Not owning a compote, I first had to google it to see what one was.
From the pics I saw, the proportions look great. I agree with George about weighting the base so it doesn't get tippy when...
Very well written. I like the clear statements of responsibilities.
I like the idea of a sticky post to inform individuals that if they request a critique, they can expect to receive an honest (though often subjective) opinion from others, offered with the intent of...
Very Generous of you.

And THANKS to all the vets out there for your service!
I too was expecting a debate about the benefits of soaking blanks in a crockpot with some liquid followed by an indepth explanation of the chemical reaction at the molecular level. Recipes.... Go...
That's funny!
You know that's how the Frisbee was invented. It was supposed to be a platter for the guy's wife, but when he parted it off it went flying.
Later they started making them out of plastic because...
Your segmented work amazes me! Very nice!!!
I recently went through the same thing. I was looking at the Craftsman 14", but after comparing the fit, finish, etc. between the Sears, Delta and Jet 14" saws, I went with the Jet. Woodcraft had a...
