Count me in. Thanks.
Count me in please. Thanks.
No I just kept using a strip to test it until it would lay flat against the form.
I bought 300 bdft of Sapele several years ago from him. It was cut very thick for 4/4 but did have some waves in it. I still have about half of it left. I am usually able to get 7/8" finished...
I beveled my forms so that the strips lay flat on them. I suggest buying a Japanese Shinto rasp. It is good for that as well as shaping your stems as well. I have found it to be the ideal tool for...
I am a huge Dowelmax lover but I don't think we can make any opinions of the Jessem until it is out and some people on the forums have used it.
I would not trust it because of my personal problems...
I use the Dowelmax as well. I usually try to get just enough glue in the hole so that when the dowel is inserted it just barely squeezes out. This is very difficult to get just right.
I wish...
I built the Freedom 17' from Bear Mountain boats. I really like it. The plans were full size for the forms.
I recommend you pick up the book Canoecraft if you haven't already....
Thanks for the response. I wouldn't dye the sapwood as I like it but the tables are for my brother and he is not a fan. As for the knot do you recommend filling it first before I start finishing?
I'm almost done building some walnut tables and I am debating the finishes. I have a fair amount of sapwood I need to blend in.
I have read Rob Millard's blog on his recommendation on using...
I love Sapele and bought 350 bdft a few years ago. I do not think it is a substitute for mahogany but a wood that stands on its own. Unless you are trying to match a mahogany piece I see no reason...
I had an experience similar to yours. I consider it a negative experience though. After calling the regular line many times I began emailing everyone at the company. I received my mast-r slide...
There was a test in last months Wood magazine on outdoor glues. The only one that failed to any significant degree was the poly glue. Pretty much every joint failed. If you don't want to use epoxy...
A word of warning. Even if you get through you may have to fight with them for months to get what you want. They make a fantastic product but have very poor customer service.
I have used both. I bought the master slide. I had some issues with the table being flat and even more issues with their "customer service". It all worked out in the end and now I am very...
I went with the Jet and I'm very happy. I use the 12" jointer quite often. I bought quite a bit of lumber over 8" wide. I never mind switching between jointer and planer as it is as easy as people...
I have the Dowelmax and think it is fantastic.
A friend just bought the Joint Genie that is only $200 and he is a big fan. Go to their website and check it out. I like the feature where you can...
Okay thanks everyone. I'll reevaluate and see what I should do.
Thanks again.
I'm trying to figure out a way to add more 220 capability in my garage. My breaker box is full and I switched every breaker to a double that I can.
I have one 220 outlet that is on a 20 amp...
I like it. It looks very professional.
I have the same casters on my machine but I mounted them directly to the jointer. It has not felt tippy with the table up. Maybe if I rolled it around with...
I have one on my Craftsman 22124 and love it.
Rockler sells it with a different color aluminum but it is the exact same unit and price.
All in good fun but would his record be that good if he played in a tough conference?
I believe The Ohio State is 0-9 vs. SEC teams. Just a random statistic.
Don't take me too serious...
Aren't the Buckeyes the same as the Buffalo Bills? Are they the ones that get beat in the national championship game by the SEC every year?
Just checking. Impressive woodworking.
I bought a 300+ bdft load of Sapele from Justin last year. I love it. It was exactly as described. I got a lot of 12-13" wide boards and all 12-13 ft lengths.
As soon as I use a little more...
