This is a nicely figured Ash natural edge bowl that I first dyed black with India ink. I then sanded off most of it and applied yellow dye, let dry, and then light blue dye. The black did a good job...

I use white paper table covering, bought a roll at a party supply store. I cut it to various sizes and crunch it up then flatten to give a cushion effect. Reusable.
