The LV bevel-up jointer doesn't have square sides for some reason, so probably not suitable for shooting.

There's a nice design in "Building Shaker Furniture"by Thos Moser. It has somewhat narrow leaves so you can leave the chairs pushed in when they're down. Might be a good starting point at least.
