Looking good, David! Looking forward to seeing the process and how you like it after you finished!
I've had a Grizzly G1029 2 hp (220v) dust collector since 1990. It's 28 years old. I turn it off and on as needed, I've never thought about the 6 times/ hr. rule. I turn it on and off sometimes...
As always, fabulous work, John! Too bad about your health issue. I would pay you to build one on my back forty in a heart beat.
Nice job, Jim! Also a great job documenting with in depth pictures. That's an interesting beading detail on your doors and drawer fronts. I usually see the beading detail go on the face frames. ...
I second what Sam said. Teak or mahogany. I use Mirante, a cheap member of the mahogany family. My first round I made out of cedar....they just didn't hold up.

You mean, like this? Notice the cutout in the arm rest for the wine glass stem. This was posted by "Fritter63" over on Festool Owners Group

Thanks for posting a link to that Youtube, Curtis. I hadn't seen that one. I never understood what people were saying when they talked about the "pop up" stops either. It pops up, not when you...
I was just up at Rockler in Salem and both of their stops on their display model were way too loose. I think it's a common problem.
I've added a new thread on how to tuneup the flip stops here:

I check the new cut on the test piece and I see that it is the same as what's on the fence needle, 25 1/4"

And now for the wobbliness!
I actually figured this one out as I...
As most have heard, the stops for the Sawstop sliding crosscut table have much to be desired. They come from the factory out of square and wobbly. They are complicated and over-engineered. But...
I wouldn't want to sling a full sheet of plywood on the SS either. One reason I opted to mount the slider rail flush with the front of the saw. I break down my sheet goods the exact same way as...
I have just recently purchased a SS PCS and the Sliding Crosscut Table. I'm overall pleased with it. My old unisaw had an Excalibur sliding table that I used for almost 20 years. Neither one have...
I agree that it seems lower or smaller but it doesn't bother me at all. The switch position is going to be a problem though. The locking knob for the slider is located underneath where I think the...
I've been up and running for a few days now. I decided to live with the scratches on the sliding table top. I just used a black sharpie to blend them in. I couldn't find another one anywhere in...
Phil, I'd have to check but I believe he does. But I would just build frameless cabinets the same way but without the face frames.
One of the things I came away from Tolpin's book was to use story sticks and poles rather than measuring with a tape. Then lay the entire kitchen out on the sticks. Then build the face frames...
Hands down the greatest kitchen cabinet how to book is Jim Tolpin's Building Traditional Kitchen Cabinets In fact, I had over 100 woodworking books and a while back I got rid them all except for...
Mort, Good point. I have many years experience aligning table saws with huge, noticeable differences. I know I mentioned I was using the "A-Lign-it" alignment system but I neglected to post a link...
The beat goes on with the install. I was at JLC Live Thursday and Friday but during that time my Sliding Crosscut Table arrived from CPO Tools. As I said before, the unit is now under national...
Funny you mentioned that step Chris. I glanced at that step before I started. I'm the type with limited attention span that only looks at the pictures of a manual and only when I can't figure it...
Mike, No, I bought the regular duty one. I will say I'm very impressed with it!
Solid advice, thanks guys. Although I will wait until this weekend when I have some help to bolt on the extension table again. No matter, I'm going to the Festool Connect event in Providence...
