Go to Woodcraft Site www.woodcraft.com look under product instruction search Ellsworth sharpening jig set up there is a pdf file for making his jig and info on 7-4-2.
If I remember the cam lock comes in two sizes 1/2" and 3/8" right now.

All of Doug Thompson gouges are done with the Vari-Grind Jig if you go to Thompson Lathe tools Web Site he has a Sharpening page showing how the Vari-Grind is set up. ...

I think when Chris Stott moved to Spain he stopped having them made. He is going to be at St. Paul for the 25th Sym. maybe he might have some there.
Ellsworth himself stated in one of his videos that he showed students how to make his jig which was orginally made out of wood in the being so that they were able to grind their gouges like his...
I don't believe David Ellsworth did like this turner said there are many grinds out there that started this type of grind years ago.
Every turner use this style but made changes to what they liked...
I have Thompson 3/8 v; 1/2 v; 5/8 v Bowl Gouges. I use the 1/2v the most but if I am roughing out Bowls 10" or bigger I will use the 5/8v to get the bowl so it is stable than finish with the 1/2v....

Harry, Check utube for video's by Ali Avisera I think he has something on sharpening shew that way. That style of sharpening is the shew that he also sells check Craft Supplies Catalog.
Those are beauties as Bernie says always can expect asume ornaments from you. Do the bells have a clanker in them?
