I do have one, I may try that one set. I avoided asking about that here as I thought pocket-hole joinery was a four letter work on this forum from what I have read! haha
thanks and cheers

I am going to spray mine but the problem is finding an organic vapor respirator right now is, if not impossible, pretty darn close. I am hoping by summer they will be for sale again!
Thanks, so I am thinking you mean to clamp the frame up in some manner first, then drill all the way through the stiles into the rails? This sounds like I would need to be very precise in drilling...
This doesn’t appear to be self centering on a workpiece?
Thanks, I havent seen this one; going to check it out.
Thanks again. It always helps to hear from folks who have done something vs speculation.
I glued up a rough test frame yesterday with double biscuits, no slats. I just took it out of the...
Hi Bob, how many biscuits did you use in the corners (if you remember)?
Poplar for frame, basswood for louvers
Thanks for the offer but I am not close to Nashville. All my rails and stiles were milled at the same time but the Delta mortiser did not prodeuce consistent mortises. The sides could be off by...
I am building plantation shutters for kitchen windows (interior). The shutters will be painted. I have done one set of 4 (5 windows = 20 shutters) using M&T joinery. I didn't do a great job getting...
I do but a couple of those blades would be more than what the portable mill would charge.. I might try splitting the one solid one but, a bowsaw, really?
I have to split it first!
Firewood it is!
Thanks, I was wondering about the knots & bad center.
Got bits of one of the largest dogwoods around here Friday. Talked to guy with portable mill – $65 to cut up, but $25 per blade if he hits any metal; but can’t do it before next weekend. This...
Thanks all - good information!
Hello all -I hope this is the correct forum to ask this in. I have a 3/4” x 5 1/2” T&G pre-finished oak floor (solid) in our hallway. As usual, the flooring in the hall runs parallel to the...
I’d like to make a table very similar to this one. (complete gallery is here: http://opalko.smugmug.com/Woodworking/Pub-Table/17627272_k8cbg3 )

I’ve been trying to make a project from some plans I bought online for a nightstand. The plans call for 1 1/2” square legs with 2 mortises on each leg (Cherry, btw) for rails. The mortises are shown...
As I have said in another post: how do you gauge how deep to make the initial cuts with the blade? Obviously the width of the mortise will make each shoulder cut slightly less than half that...
How do you guarantee to make a mortise a few thousandths larger than the tenon? I see no easy way to make the mortise wider?
Hi all, I am having poor results with my mortise & tenon joints, looking for advice on better ways to do these.
I am using a new Delta dedicated mortiser (which I have found out has a fence out of...
First time building a carcase that will hold 9 drawers. Should the inside of carcase (that is never exposed) have finish?
Cheers
I have an old can of boiled linseed oil, perhaps 3 years old? Does this stuff go bad, or is it ok to use for my current project? My typical finish is 1/3 turpentine, 1/3 linseed oil, 1/3 varnish...
Building a hutch for my wife with 9 drawers on the lower portion. As my first project building drawers, it looks like the fit it is going to be loose on the side to side fit, maybe as much as 3/16"....
