you could buy a oneway chuck and order the spinle thread insert to mach from their website.
Before I upgraded I used to own a Lathe just like it.
Obviously there is no Morse Taper so you are out of...

wasn't quite sure how is was going to be held so I had a friend make a side shelf to support it and it is simply attached by a few bolts...
I havn't been tuning in a few months and I finally got around to the Project I have been wanting to do ever since I purchased this lathe...
Problem was that it was too fast for what I wanted to do,...
I have the same Lathe and same problem !!!!!
Here is a thought -how about calling Grizzly and seeing if their new Lathe( with the VFD) head stock could be baught to replace the old one and mounted...
