Sometimes, the simple solution is best. Good on you for getting it done.
That's heavy duty. How do you plan to finish it?
If you're talking about cutting it from a single sheet of plywood (or other sheet good), I'd clamp a straight edge and use a jig saw.
Great use for the old mill siding. Nice job on the table too!
Good info, thanks.

Very nice job Ken! My wife wants one similar in size and shape, as soon as we get rid of the huge one that we have.
How did you make the finger/box joints?
Thanks,
Frank
Bill,
Thanks for your reply. I've been looking at the new equipment and following on the track saw forum, but I purchased this lot of materials locally and want to make the best use of it while...
Bill,
Nice job on this PBB. I like yours and Paul's design. One question for you: what was the reason for the plywood strips under the SME's? More support for the longer SME's?

+1 for Mr. Sawdust's book and table.
Spent all day Saturday manning a marketing booth for the cafe at a motorcycle shop's open house/poker run for Habitat for Humanity. Afterwards, was able to get slats cut and edges routed, with 1/8"...

Now that you mention it, it does look like a battered ET....cut on the left side, bruise on the right, one eye closed...:p
I've been working on completing a set of "Square Foot Gardening" boxes and helping the wife get some veggies and flowers planted. Also, put a second coat of paint on portions of a cornice for one of...
Awww, you don't want that old thing. Since it's so old, it'll probably just give you all kinds of trouble. I'd be happy to keep you from experiencing all that aggravation, being the nice guy that I...

Looks good. Can't wait to see how it all comes together. I'd love to come across a deal like that for cabinet grade plywood, pre-finished or not.

To learn more about the radial arm saw, I recommend Mr. Sawdust's book:

I owned a saw very similar to what you're looking at back in the early 80's when I first dabbled...
From what I can see, you did an outstanding job matching the double oven cabinet to the rest of the kitchen.
Thanks for sharing,

The cheapest, and best, advertising is word of mouth. It usually builds slowly, but doesn't cost and can snowball. Build something that you can display at home or somewhere locally. Join a...
I normally just e-mail it to myself. Go into windows explorer (my computer/my documents/my photos, etc) and find the image (don't double click on it to open it up). Right click on it and select...
Fine-looking saw. Nice when someone notices your frustration and twists your arm to get something better, huh?
Congratulations again,
Frank
Not to hijack this thread, but I have a quick question. The pallets that I have access to from time to time seem to all be assembled with a bazillion staples. Anyone know of a way to disassemble...
