Funny you should mention that Joel, I've never seen one with the strip either. I did have a guy return a nice wentworth vise I sold on ebay b/c it was missing and, in his words, "useless without...
I have the 310 also, can't comment on the bosch. Nice compact little router. Only reccommendation I would make is to buy or make an oversized base plate for it, the stock one is a little small. Pat...
Paul, I got my #80 without a blade, thats why it was so cheap. I made one from an old handsaw, an Atkins actually, and it works great. Just something to consider next time you need a scraper.
Paul, thats a nice looking scraper you've got there! If you follow the lik below, you will find 2 articles on scrapers. The one by Ralph Brendler covers plain scrapers as well as a scraper plane...
All my stanley 750's have come without handles. After fooling around with several patterns, I decided on this one. I've turned 4 or 5 so far, and haven't had any problems yet.

Kurt, I guess I'm lucky here. Were done to one real flea market in the area and there is always at least 4-5 guys with tools. They don't think much of the hand tools because saws go for $1-$2,...
Alan,
I just didn't realize that there was so much variability in prices...I would gladly pay that for a 750, its about the same as a Blue Chip and a much better product! I agree that they are...
Alan,
You pay $15.00 each? I have never paid more then $1.00 for a 720/750...and unfortunately sold way too many on the Bay, now that these are my users. Most I got with no handles, but I've...
I emailed Cliff Fales who has a site with tons of info on spiral screwdrivers. He identified it as "THE LINWAY AUTOMATIC SPIRAL RATCHET SCREWDRIVER" "SELF ADJUSTING - POWERFUL - LABOR SAVING" "THE...
The 720 is a paring chisel, while the 750 is a butt chisel. I guess a really short 720 would look like a 750. The 740 is an inbetween size. They're all junk BTW, Send any you find to me...
I don't know why these things keep following me home. This one is foward only, square shank, measures just over 12" closed, handle is 8 1/2", and is marked "LENWAY" or something close to that. the...
Hey sparky, nice job! I have one thats 1/2 done in plexi, but that puts mine to shame. BTW, those nutdrivers hanging on the wall look neat, who makes them and where did you get them?
Speaking of bevel angles, just curious as to what angle everyone uses on mortice chisels. Just picked up 2 greenlees with mangled edges.
Just went and chopped out a mortice or two with a chisel I just rehabbed. Nice little chunks of cherry just poppin out.

This chisel was in a box of tools I got from my Grandfather. He was a butcher and this was in a box in his store. I know it wasn't his b/c his tools were, with the exception of his knives, cheap...
have a wood chisel I picked up a while ago. Its all steel, and was made by ""crescent tool, Jamestown, ny" The blade is 1 1/4 wide, and about 3 1/2 long. Overall length is about 9 1/2 inches. this is...
I usually get mine at the local Wally - World (walmart) they have it up to 2000 here, and prices are cheap, always a plus. Also, they're open untill 11PM so you can run out to satisify those late...
Bob - Great looking piece! Finish is amazing. I use Deft alot, but in satin. Gonna try your way next time.
Mowing the lawn, Using a chainsaw, ther'te great. I also use them when I'm using the router inside and they pick up fine.
Doug,
I have 3 combo squares, 2 are craftsman, one is Starrett. The 2 craftsman have the heart design around the lock knob. One of these is as high a quality as the starrett, and is marked...
I have the tru-grind and like it. One base and one fixture does it all. It works really well on gouges (bowl and spindle) and on scrapers. Puts a hollow grind on skews (I would think any system...
My Father's central air unit gave out over the weekend. The guy he called in wanted to put in a new unit made by Arcoaire. Never heard of them. Anyone have any experience/reccomedations they want to...
Don,
The rigid single tube lathe has a #1 morse taper. Sears has the best prices on this stuff new, in my experience.
Might want to try ebay.
Spindle thread is 3/4 x 16
Hope this...
Todd,
Norm built a Jobsite extension table setup for a benchtop saw. Seems pretty slick. Have been meaning to do something similar but....
