Belated Happy Birthday, Sir
I'll bet she doesn't unplug her TV at night.
No apology need for my part as I wasn't offended. I just tried to explain why I, and possibly others, am among the numbers that have read a particular post, but haven't replied. I try to live by...
I login daily and read many of the posts in this forum but rarely post anything. I use this, and other forums, as a learning experience. I've been turning for 3 years now, but can't hold a candle...

I ordered mine late Wednesday evening and received it today (Friday). Wow, that's service! Thanks, Dave.
I mounted it to my grinder as soon as I got in the shop and sharpened all my gouges and...
All the positive comments in this thread have convinced me. I ordered a 180 grit wheel from Dave about an hour ago.
My drill press is a bench top model with a short quill travel distance, so I have some issues making that work. When I've tried using the lathe, I seem to get quite a bit of wobble in my drill bit. ...
Now you've gone and done it. You asked the question that is never to be asked.
Once the genie is out of the box, you can't put it back again.
Here's hoping for a sucessful surgery and speedy recovery.
I have a DVR XP and have to agree with you, a rotary dial would be a nice touch for changing speeds. So far, I haven't found anything like that.
I used the Wolverine jig for a couple of years and never really liked the results. After attending a skew class through our local club, I've started using the platform only, followed by diamond hone...

If your local club has a mentoring program, take them up on it. That way you can watch how it's done, ask questions, then have the mentor watch you and correct any mistakes on the spot.
Thanks, Scott. I've sent the msg.
Always eager to pick up different methods and ideas.
Is this pdf file still available anywhere? It seems, over time, the links and images in this thread have all been deleted.
Thx
I just rolled over 69 on the oldometer. My father passed away at the young age of 57, so I feel blessed to have made it this far and be in good health. I've dabbled in woodwork on and off for over...
Very nice indeed. I've never tried my hand at turning boxes, but plan to in the near future. Can lidded boxes be turned with green wood, or should dry wood always be used?
I too have used BB since starting turning about 18 months ago. I've always wondered if upgrading to a better quality tool gained anything besides time between sharpening. Since I'm retired, I have...
I reversed the flanges, replaced the original wheel with a Norton and replaced the plastic bushing with a machined metal bushing on mine. I'm still getting a bit of side to side wobble, but it's...
Pardon my ignorance, but what is WoW? I've Googled it but don't seem to get anywhere.
I'm a frequent viewer of this forum, but a first time poster.
Here's hoping for a speedy recovery. He'll be in my thoughts.
Targo Woods in Bellingham would be worth a look. Their website isn't always reflective of what they have in stock as supplies come and go fairly rapidly.
