All made by General out of Drummondville Canada
350 table saw
15 inch drill press
14"planer
8"jointer
All quality tools where old school design still rules

Take the General without question. Without going into detail, better castings, quality control and customer service. I own a General 350 and my buddy has the PM2000. Trust me on this.

Mike
Check out this link. Same method should apply to the shear angle knives on your jointer.
I took delivery of a General 350 yesterday and I must say that it is one beefy saw. The inner components of this saw are much heftier than my old Unisaw. The General runs on a two belt system and I...
I see that General has removed them from their website. Too many inquiries or what?
My guess is that the current stock of 350/650 may remain at or near the current pricing until gone, but the new saws equipped with the euro riving knives will see a sustantial increase and I'm...
My advice would be to purchase a General 350/650 before May 31st and worry about the riving knife later. I would anticipate a substantial price increase in all their equipment after their Spring...
That is what I have in my shop and I have no complaints.
Very nice piece Mike. A very clean and refreshing look.
Mike,
The General 350/650 table saws are currently being promoted at $2649.00 which includes fence, extension table and legs. I found a local dealer who is selling right tilts (350) at $2499.00....
Dave,
I also have a basement shop and I can appreciate your concerns. On the other hand, I am fairly persistent in my goals and when I decide I want a new tool in my basement, I figure out a way. ...
No offense, but I couldn't stop laughing.
I have to agree with Scott. The General 350/650 is the most underrated saw out there. The fit and precision of these saws is spectacular. I'm in the process of selling my 25 year old unisaw and...
Another thing about the mats is that I have saved a few tools that hit a shock absorbing mat and not the concrete floor.
I may buy some General stationary power tools like a 650 table saw. General tools out of Canada seem to increase in price anywhere from 20 to 30 % a year. Beats the stock market and if I wait much...
Steven,
All planers have snipe. Some just have less than others. A lot of it is relevant to the wood species and the depth of the cut. One little trick I use is to apply just a little upward...
Maybe custom saw mill?
Yes. Good people. I ordered a WWII #1 grind and as soon as I placed the order online, I got a phone call telling me it was slightly backordered. I also purchased a duraline and had no problems.
Costco is just as bad. I refuse to pay a store $50 just to walk through their doors and even worse, I refuse to be treated like shoplifter when leaving. ( They ask for your receipt and inventory...
Rip them, joint them, plane them and then glue them up. The life of a 6 inch jointer guy.
That sounds reasonable. I've been hearing around $4000.00. I just found out that Willow Creek Tools in Montana is now stocking them. About an hour drive from hear, but I thought I'd go take a look.
I love my General 130 planer. A stout piece of equipment and takes up little room in the shop. If I had the chance to do it all over, I think almost all my equipment would be the maple leaf General.
Can anyone tell me the going rate for the SawStop. Is it pretty well fixed or can the price vary from location to location?
Thanks,
Dan
