Please count me in. Thanks!
Ken,
Where I grew up in Ks, we called osage orange; hedge, or hedge apple. When I moved to TX, I was introduced to a new name, Bois d'arc or Bodark. Bois d'arc is French for bow wood. All the...
I think the same slides can be had from woodworkershardware.com for even less. At any rate, I have installed 16" and 26" slides from woodworkershardware and am happy with them.

That looks great! Love the pegs, great idea. I recently finished a kitchen island counter top, 3' wide, 9' long, 4/4 maple. I learned the hard way about grain orientation, as well. I quit working...
I bought the same set from Rockler last winter. I also have many of the Jorgenson parallel clamps and none of the Jet or Besseys. I like the Jorgenson a whole lot better than the Irwin's. The big...
For the top I made a wiping varnish from varnish and mineral spirits. 5 coats, then a couple coats of wax. I debated other options, but in the end varnish seemed the best fit for us.
Jeff, the paint is just acrylic enamel from the Borg. Thanks for looking!
It's taken almost a year to build this island, but I finally prevailed and it's installed and operational. The island is poplar and plywood. The counter top is a 4/4 maple lamination, almost 10'...
Thanks guys for the advice! I need to start making sure the grain all runs the same, good point. I noticed I have some boards that reverse, so I guess I'll be dealing with some "difficult" grain...
I'm currently building an edge grain laminated maple counter out of 4/4 strips. The counter is 3' w x 9' l and about 2" thick (in the rough). I think I've decided to build the entire top, then use...
I've got a set of the Sears blue Footprint chisels. 11 chisels for something like $45 on sale a couple years ago. Made in Sheffield, and they seem to be decent. I don't have anything nicer to...
Count me in!
Bob, let me be the first to say...You SUCK!
Nice score...
I bought one last spring during the "power tool sale". It's my first real saw, so I certainly can't compare to a new Griz, but I've had a good experience with it. The granite was well-matched and...
One of my friends tends to mix common sayings up. 15+ years ago, he and I took a road-trip with several other friends. I was driving, my friend was navigating. Within a few hours he had coined 2...
Thanks, Cary...I never even thought to look at Incra's website. Amazon has the combo for $240 right now, think I may just say Merry Christmas to me!
Are there functional differences between the 1000se combo (with the miter express) and the 5000? I've tried searching old threads, but don't find anything that really points out the differences. ...
Good lookin' Adirondacks! I just ordered the Lee Valley plans, myself. LOML is from just north of the park and wants to get back to her roots.
+1 What Jeff Duncan said. Mixing thinset and drilling concrete require 2 very different drills. I've tried doing both with the wrong drill and neither was pleasant.
Thanks guys, sounds like with some enginuity I should be able to pull it off!
I have a 6" jointer with a 45" bed. What are folks' various opinions on how long a 4/4 board I can safely/accurately edge join on this jointer? I'm about to start on a counter top made of laminated...

+1, What Kyle said. You might want to compost them first, then use as mulch
This spring spring, I went to turn the compost pile. After a couple forks full, I noticed a dark movement. After some careful investigation I found a 3' water snake bedded in my compost. Guess he...
