I live in the Pacific North West so am used to dealing with outdoor projects that have to survive in wet conditions. In my experience pine of any variety is not optimal in terms of its weather...
Thanks for all the feedback. Several good points were raised that I hadn't considered. Nothing beats bouncing ideas around other woodworkers before throwing down time or money. Thanks again
Brian -
Good point about cases keeping tools and accessories together. I hadn't thought of that. Thanks!
Curious how other woodworkers store their bench tools (routers, jigsaws etc). Do you store them in the plastic/canvas cases they come with or leave them out of the case where they are more easily...
I have Rikon's 14" Deluxe bandsaw and for the price consider it a great saw. I agree that the intro price for the new "Pro" version is too high given their target market. Rikon will either get the...

Does anyone have any experience with the Brett line of TS guards? I am thinking about the 10-A that mounts on the left side of the saw (I have a left tilt Grizzly 1023). Will this guard work okay...
First of all - thanks to everyone who replied - I appreciate the help.
So, here's some further info that some may find interesting/useful:
I have the 1.5 HP lathe - runs on 120V/1 phase AC...
Jim,
Spoke with JET tech suppor today. They tell me that the temperatures I am seeing on the inverter are normal - they recommend blowing the thing out from time to time to clear out any chips etc....
Thanks for the replies - I am going to contact Jet tech support ASAP about it because the temps produced on that housing just can't be right.

Hi - Just bought a Jet 1642EVS lathe. Love the thing, but am concerned with how hot the phase inverter on the back of the pully housing gets in operation. A chip got lodged in the heat sink last...
