I'm guessing you have digital access to Sectionals or Terminals? If not, try AIRNAV dot com. FYI, They are VERY busy "maps". It would be interesting to see a file ready to engrave from one of...
Hi Walt,
I priced out a Chinese water jet at around 30K. Water jets are messy and required a lot of space and electricity. You will need (3) phase to run the pumps /intensifier. I also worried...
Die Cutting is typically done with a steel rule die. You can search the web and find out what they look like. They are relatively cheap but you cannot get very complex with them. I have a video on...
Steve,
What you have shown in your post is way too complex for die cutting. That was most certainly NOT die cut.
Another way I did it was to get a certified 1000 mm scale and vector cut a line in wood (not all the way through) in the X and Y dimension. Then tweak you steps in the software until you get it to...
We have cut it several times with a laser. It cuts fine but it makes a mess of your laser! The cleanest way to cut it is die cutting.
My Lasercut 5.3 board has a quirk where if I choose 10% power, I get 100%! If I choose 11% or 9% it is fine. I can get my tube to fire down to 7% but no lower.
Jason,
This solution assumes that you have a steel honeycomb table. The standard aluminum knife table than many lasers use won't work. Just hold your part down with the neo magnets as shown. ...
Jason,
Go on Amazon and get yourself some neo magnets like Doug suggested. Just watch your fingers if you get them too close to each other. They BITE!
Also watch out for getting them stuck...
After a great discussion on my previous thread ,"G.Weike metal and non-metal" I have decided to stick with the standard co2 non-metal laser cutter. When the technology is more proven, I may pursue...
If it needs a dongle it is probably Lasercut 5.3. It also has lead-in, lead-out, straight or arced and length. I use it all the time with very detailed washers.
So it looks like you are...
I didn't realize that this was an emerging technology with the Chinese. I assumed that these were common place since the technology has been around for a while (Kern uses O2 to cut metal on a 150W...
They are telling me that it is an oxygen assist. That is how they are cutting through metal. I believe kern does the same with their 150w GSI shown cutting metal in their website. I wonder how...

It's this model with a 1390 sized bed http://www.wklaser.com/product/11_242.html
I am in the market for another laser and saw that G.Weike offers a laser that can cut 2 mm carbon or stainless steel along with the standard wood, acrylic, etc. It has a 130W Reci. It can only...
U line has a chipboard that is .03", or .762 mm. Your other option is dickblickdotcom.
Can you forward this guys email? That's cheaper than a skinny Americano, no dairy .... tea and crumpets for you Brits!:)
How about engraving a debit card:D
Hi John,
Looks a lot better with a X5 quicktrace than my X4. Dang, now I have to think about an upgrade:confused:
Thanks for the link Martin. That seems to work very nice. I will have to add that vid to my favorites.
Hi John, I tried that and it doesn't look good when you blow it up. Good tip when you have...
Hi All,
I must admit I am terrible at Corel Draw. I promised to do a 10" x 10" sample of the attached logo for a customer but can't get it too look good worth a darn. I asked for an .eps file and...
Nice find Dee. I love this forum for little tid-bits like this. I just ordered (25) of the plastic blades from Lee Valley.
A man (or women :)) can never have too many tools!
Lasercut 5.3 will also give you time and simulation.
