I would make sure to use stranded wire. You probably don't need more than 20 gauge wire. The more strands the better.
Then, leave enough wire so there is a little slack when the panels are...
I did mine just as Rick Petit did.
Our fence has survived 10 Minnesota winters with no problem.

Here's what I would do:
1. Get a sharp blade for your Shopsmith. Rough rip the plywood into smaller pieces, do a finish rip on the Shopsmith.
2. Tablesaw guard? Don't worry about it. I...
My concern would be the 1/3 HP motor, seems pretty small.
I would shop for a 3/4 HP motor to replace the 1/3.
If you can find a $100.00 motor, I wouldn't pay more than $150.00 for the saw.

Hi George,
Thanks for your post. Your tools look great. I have been toying with the idea of making some of my own carving tools.
Could you give a brief description of your tool making...
On my cabinets I used pocket screws and glue. No dado.
The edge of the face frame is coplanar with the cabinet side.
I don't see understand why you want to use a dado. Strength?

Go to Amazon and search whirlygigs to find book titles.
Then, go to your local library to borrow a copy.
Please post pictures when you finish one!

I have a copy of The Book of Wood Carving by Charles Marshall Sayers.

The slower I go, the faster I get done.
Meaning:
1. Plan your project well. (A job well planned is a job half done)
2, Take your time to measure carefully,
3. Stop and sharpen a tool as soon as...

Greg,
Did you win any ribbons at the fair? I'm going Thursday (Sept 2).

I would buy the Laguna.
1. You can do the rough ripping on the bandsaw, then rip a small amout (1/8") on the tablesaw to have a smoothe, straighter surface.
2. By buying the bandsaw, you...
In the Minneapolis/St Paul area they are trying a similar thing, not transporting firewood across county lines. I have no idea on how they will be inforcing it. I read where some campers brought...
You can use the files but you will need to learn how to anneal (make the file soft so it can be cut and shaped) , harden, then tempering. Google A Woodworker’s Guide to Tool Steel and Heat...
When you say "Wavy" do you mean the chatter marks left by the surface planer?
