Maple is great to cut, it is cherry with the twisted grain and pitch pockets that can cause problems.:o Make sure your lens is clean and air assist is on.

I have had good luck using brake Kleen on honeycomb. It takes off both plastic and acrylic.

This is slightly off the subject. If the route is only going to be slightly wider than a vector cut why not make it one and make the focus slightly off to make it wider and speed up the job.;)

Barbara, Is there a chance that you have the grid locked in to print. It only happened to me once. BUt that was more than enough.:rolleyes:

The one that I have comes from Kern Electronics and Lasers and you would need to get it from them.

Another choice is masking tape, cheap, easy to get the width you need and can be gotten at any blog.

You might look into thumb drives. You can get them cheap at wholesale and almost everyone uses them today.

Why not cut it to the shape you want and then form it. Works on some of our projects with ABS.
