Ive just noticed a crack in the base of my Tailstock
I will try to get it welded but just in case where can I get a replacement for a 12 lathe
Thought there was a spare Tailstock but cant seem...

I have one more big block of Manitoba maple left
on the outside it has more colour than the first piece and some bark from an old branch showing so could be a nice...
a couple of new hollow forms for me
the vase is about 10" tall and 5" in dia the colour has faded since I turned it about 10 days ago
it's hollowed to about 1/4" thick but the bottom is alot...

try a countertop sample (free-be)
cut a small V with a skew or parting tool point and then take a strip of formica sample burns...

did the mod to mine also
just reinstall the lever no point in drilling
you will never need the highest speed on the lathe

turned from elm about 8" tall inc. lid
finished with 1 coat of wipe-on poly
will wax and buff a little
