This is the wood I'm using
I like the idea of a smaller square in the center as movement would be limited and I would have a edge to miter off.
I guess you are right about having a edge if I used the panel in the center...
I have some wood I'm going to use to build a table with and both my wife and I agree it needs to be a four sided rough edged table.
I can only see two designs
Picture frame miter joints edges...
Thanks Ted I'll give them a look.
I would like some ideas on using 7 12'x15"x2" spalted maple planks. These are still rough sawn without the bark on the edges.
I'm not sure about the legs mostly and should I use the maple or find...
I have a PDF if you still need it just PM me.
I built one that plywood and about 2 feet tall and 2 feet wide. It has two 40 watt lights hooked up to a temp senser that turns on at 38 degrees and off at 45 degrees I think. They are sold at lowes...
I have noticed my 52 " Biesemeyer fence table has a sag in the middle. It's down about 1/8" in the middle. I have loosed all the screws along the rail and even drilled a couple new holes. I could...
I have been helping a friend build a small book case out of borg white common pine. The book case will be in a log cabin so he wanted the light wood look with knots. The logs are from up north and...
I started with the 150/3 and ct22 and just added the Rotex to get boards flat faster. The 150/3 is by far easier to handle but also takes time to remove material. It's my go to sander 80% of the time...
I'm looking for a replacement fence for my Rikon BS. The Kreg looked good but required me to drill two holes in the table and would have to be removed each time I changed blades.
Thanks
I have a dewalt 735 planner and would like to put a jet 12 disc sander on the other side if possible. Does anyone see any issues(weight) with doing this. I don't have the disc sander yet as I need to...
My first one required a belt sander to get flat. I learn quickly to pay more attention in the glueing up of the board.
Yes exactly the same. That's why I edited my post to reflect the faint white lines. I think the dust get trapped in the open grain or at least on mine it did.
The only other problem I had which was...
I used it on my last project and it mills and sands great. The only issue would be it's a little darker and my be more open grain than American walnut so I just some tung oil. You are right on the...
I assume the lower abranet grids are good also like the 80. I received some 220 this week
Thanks for the suggestions. I have been using rubin for work under 220 and brilliant for 220 and above. I just received some Abranet discs so I give them a try along with the other suggestions....
No this is not another sander flame off
I have had a Festool 150/3 and a Rotex sander which I have used for years and have always used Festool paper. I have started to notice posts about others...
I have made two so far. One was with curly cherry and the other was walnut. If budget is a factor than I would think walnut should win in price. If I could make a suggestion.
Walnut and make the...
I have to agree with no stickers needed for true dried wood. The reason I say true is I got a similar deal when i was starting out years ago but he did not have use stickers when he dried it. I...
Steve, I have tired the bucket with water but the antifreeze is a new a great idea.
The problem with poison is that they may die and you then you have to find them after a few days. Not fun.
I use traps but only have had trouble with mice which attract snakes which bother me more....
More teeth can cause problems when cutting thicker boards as the blade gullets will fill and cause the blade to bind. I like 60 or 80 teeth blades.
I have a pocket knife and the blade is getting shorter all the time and has to be reground. It happens mostly when I use it on Philip screws
I have seen plans with the front and sides cut down a inch or more and thought about doing it but I like the 1/2 inch better. That should prevent most fingers injuries unless it's a group effort. I...
