As long as your tools are sharp you will have no problems. And it sands very good. I've seen a few bowls made from it and they are beautiful.

I finally got back to the lathe. I made this pen for my daughter that is turning 14 this month. It is Bois D'arc with a high gloss Crystal Coat finish....

Yup, my wife is already on me about wanting to make bowls. I am about to make a lamp out of cedar for my brother in laws new house.

I think I have finally gathered everthing I need to start turning pens except glue and whatever finish to use. If anyone has any suggestions on glues I would love to hear them. Also any suggestions...

My kids and I all turned pens for the troops at Rockler in Arlington Tx. It was a great day and a wonderful event.
