I made our dining room table out of "musical" claro walnut and wanted to avoid an "on the wood" finish. So I used Watco danish oil and topped it with satin wax.

Well, the wax is showing dirt/wear...

The other question here is the interface of a sled with your table saw.

What I mean is...some saws have channels that will multiply that .002" error. My saw's channels have very slightly irregular...

Just an added comment about the miters...

They often don't have the "perfect" grain flow that you hoped for...after "all that effort". So sometimes what I do that distracts from nit-pic'ing the...

Another idea for you...

Why not bookmatch them again? Or slice as many veneers as you can.

You would "double" your wood and the thinner pieces would be less likely to rebel if laminated to mdf...
