I don't know the IPS is on my Legend but I run brass at 100p 25S and 300DPI in order to get black marks that stick. The marking will rub off if I hit it at what Laserbits recommends for a 70 watt...
It was a 25 watt galvo system that started me down the road to laser ownership. I worked in a CD-ROM manufacturing plant and we lasered a serial number on the hub of every CD we made. Took about .3...
About ten thousand 2"X2" pieces of leather over the last 5 years makes my vector table smell bad:eek:

Mike, that pepper grinder looks awesome.
I’m in Washington state so shipping won’t be attractive but I thought I’d chime in on the artwork question.
You can create a rough draft of what you are...
I do small aluminum tubes that slip on the rollers and have a stripped down AAA mini Mag that fits just right inside to give them enough weight to spin properly.

My understanding from Sloans (IIRC), is that there are two glues used to make plywood. One is intended for indoor while the other is more water resistant. The indoor grade cuts more easily.

Mine predates the TT and EX machines by a bit and looks like this Legend 32
Phil was still the rep at the time and he told me that my machine seemed to have a lot more power than 70 watts and told...
My $29,995, five year old this month Epilog Legend 24 70 watt machine has seen 600 hours at the most and is still going strong. It will happily incinerate stuff if I'm not careful with power and...
I have a 2hp Grizzly dust collector out in the garage. It's rated at 1500CFM and tends to suck small parts out of the machine if I'm not careful.
I ran 4" steel ducting through the attic with 4"...
My Epilog is in the closet of a 10' by 9 1/2' spare bedroom.
I've packed in two computers and their attached stuff, two desks, two bookcases and a filing cabinet.

Yes they have an agitator ball, I have shaken (shooked?) a can so much that it had a pattern of dents all 'round the bottom.
I've also had a can develop a pin hole about 1/4" up from the bottom. ...
Bummer, sounds like you have a plugged valve. If you are brave and have good vision care, you could try pushing the valve (the plastic bit in the top of the can) in with a blunt object. Either...
Altho the nozzle plugs sometimes on me, I confess to not having cleaned the nozzle in the last month or so. I think you may have a plugged dip tube or valve. Try shaking the snot out of the can...
I've been through ten or fifteen spray cans of Cermark and yes, it does clog up regularly. The trick seems to be store it on its side and shake way longer than seems necessary. Also, rinse the...
As for laser sized sheets, my customer buys full sheets and has them cut to 12X24 to fit my Epilog.
I cut mine face down because I have a few engraved marks on the inside of the cover. I...
I'm cutting .0625 mirror at speed 100% power 40% and frequency of 5000 on an Epilog Legend 70 watt machine. I cut it face down, paper on and the parts stay together for the most part, the customer...
As a safety note, altho CA does not seem to be flammable, a large spill cleaned up with a rag will create enough heat to start a fire.
We used quart bottles and had to be careful about spills.

I've done the slides on a couple of Glocks and while you can read it, there isn't much contrast. If you don't need it to stand out, you could go this route.

Not many laser folks have a use for a vacuum veneer press but I do recognize the pump. We have a bunch laying around in the old parts room. They were used to power suction cups for pulling down and...
My Epilog rotary has a few problems also.
A 1" box will be 1" along the axis but longer around the circumference every time.
If I vector a line that matches the circumference, the ends will...
I mark Power Links (connecting links for racing shells) for Mr Muser, altho a google doesn't find him right now.
I cut leather for Beads and Billiards Pocket Chalkers, much stinky.
I cut and...
Joe,
I assume you are using IntelliScribe and the XP driver. I don't know about your machine but my Legend24 has a 10Mb ethernet connection which is quite slow these days.
If you watch the log...
When I bought mine, Epilog sold a box for several hundred dollars that plugged into the port and controlled the exhaust fan.0 Needless to say, I didn't buy it.
