Wondering if you ever found that splitter..
My understanding, right or wrong (?) is that Shop Fox is made by Grizzly. If that is true, what are the differences between the products..? Is one the cadillac and the other a chevy?
Thanks, Bill
I'm building a shop table for my new shop. I've never used pocket hole fasteners so forgive this newbie question.
The frame will be 3/4" plywood and I wanted to have a 3/4" MDF top that will be...
Thanks Mike.. That's the one I have.. blue in color with CI wings. The fence is a Vega.
Yes.. no dice.. thank you though. That said.. I may not have enough experience to really check it properly.
Howdy folks..
I have a Jet JWTS-10JF saw. The guy I bought it from lost/tossed the safety gear for it. So, it's missing the splitter, pawls and shield.
I'm not concerned about the shield.. but...
Thanks folks. Most of the wood is branches that are from 2-4" in diameter. I do have some trunk material that is ~10" in diameter.. Much of that has rot on the inside. There appears to be a lot of...
I came into a bunch of olive wood from trees that were involved in the big fires here in CA in October. The trees have been scorched and most of the bark has either been burned or is loose. Some is...
I've had a Jet 14" bandsaw for about 20 years now and have never used it for anything precision.. It, at the time, didn't come with a miter gauge.. or if it did, I put it away for safe keeping and...
I may well be having a "duh" moment.. but, so be it. I have a 14" Jet bandsaw that has the standard miter gauge slot.. 3/4" x 3/8". I need to get a miter gauge as one did not come with the saw...
Milk paint is supposed to be food safe. Check it out on Google.
James, what a fantastic idea and execution. Wish I had the talent.. and the 1G to get one.
Thanks Ricc Havens. I'm not familiar with the Mustard group.. tried to google.. with no luck.. Can you provide a link? Thanks
Thanks John, as noted in my change.. my lathe is a 1642evs.. not the 1640evs.. blooper. These are good ideas. Unfortunately, I don't have a shop yet.. so the lathe is protected on my back porch.....
My apologies, JK.. it's a 1642evs.. I've made the changes.
I just picked up a very nice Jet 1642EVS for a very good price. Seems like a very nice lathe. Only 110v but, I think it will be strong enough for anything I ever expect to create.
That said.. I...
Leo, your point is well taken. In my woodcarving, I almost always copy what someone else has done.. something that catches my eye. After making that object about 5 times, I begin to see something...
Back to my OP... Turns out Nova sent me two sets of JCole Jaw sets and both were warped pretty badly. They upgraded me to the larger Cole jaws and they work very well... in that they lay flat as...
John, you are correct.. I mis-typed.. it is the Record.. not Robust.. I can't even blame that on a fat finger mistake hitting the incorrect keys :)
What is "wind shake" ??
Muck boots look hot and expensive. I have a foot that could be used in place of flippers for scuba divers.. long and WI D E. I have been looking at hiking boots by Propet. They come in ankle...
Understand John. I just HATE to spend good money on something that is coming through with poor quality control I'd rather spend a few more $$ and get something good.
I was watching a video by a...
Hi Dane, I can put your face to a member.. but, I've not actually met you in person. I love the work you have displayed.. pretty awesome. I'm a relatively new guy.. Old, Bald, white beard.. and...
Just googled it. $2300 range new with free shipping. T'wer me.. I'd go new. The chuck has added value tho.
John brings up a good point, which I don't think you answered. Is the tiny M1(?) screw in the body that is designed to keep you from opening the jaws too far? I lost one and had to go to Home Depot...
