Greg,
Thank you for the complements. I am glad the mods have worked for you.
The credit really goes out to Phil, if it were not for him sharing his idea I never would of even contemplated making...
This is a rather tricky question. One of the main reasons no one I know of has checked the difference between the two is how many own both and has the money to study it? I imagine there are those who...
Salem,
Sorry about not replying sooner.
Bruce is right about Phil's site.
Understand this version I made is sort of a combination of a cyclone and Phil's baffle. There are actually quite a few...
Matt, very nice... wish my shop was a big as yours :(
Can't wait until the final pics.
This might sound like a silly question but is there a standard for shelf pins from the edge when you drill/route the shelf pin holes?
Many of these jigs have two or are variable in spacing from the...
Thanks everyone for the replies - will go with 3/4.
Michael,
French cleats would not work as Matt described as they will go all the way to the ceiling.
Matt,
How did you fasten the backs as I noticed you are using prefinished ply?
Matt,
I checked out your kitchen build for your mother.
Nice job!
My main concern is the total weight of the cabinet. Do you think it adds that much more weight? Did you rabbit/dado the backs or...
I am making some kitchen cabinets (sort of a pantry off of the main kitchen) which will consist of 3 cabinets that are 42" x 20" x 15 - 3/4 ply. This is my dilemma, I was thinking using 1/2" backing....
John,
Sorry did not answer you earlier - have been busy.
The height has been increased due to the changes of the inlet.
I have not built this (still using the origional) but right now have not...
Ben,
You can check out my changes here. This is the last post showing the outlet modification to 6" with a link to the origional post.
After making a similar post such as yours - I got the 1590.
There is no, and I repeat - no comparison to the previous jig saws I have owned (B&D and Skil). Get it - it is so smooth.
My daughters...
Thanks everyone for your replies... Looks like for the money, worth giving a try.
Still stuck on whether to get the 6" or 8" dado stack.
Decisions ....decisions...
I have read here how some are quite impressed with the Oshlun blades. I am looking at the dado stack. Of those of you who own one, what advantages - disadvantages are there between the 6" and the 8"...
Myk,
Did you send it local or ?
I am looking for someone in MI that sharpens.
You can look it this another way - If you start out with 6" and do not have sufficient amount of air flow - you will need to upgrade the DC. If you go with 4", you still might not have enough of air...
For starters - I am no expert on DC. That being said I will give you my personal experience with my HF DC.
Started out with 4" ducting with blast gates using the original bags.
It worked but the...
Angie,
Your design is somewhat similar to mine (posted here) but you did not have to actually build the upper chamber. I was thinking along those line before I built mine but wanted to up the pipe...
This is my version of Phil's baffle. being that you have one heck of a blower - I would like to see what that would do on mine.
Good luck.
Edit- here is another mod I did after the first post.
Thanks everyone for your input. I have a Rockler, Woodcraft, and Harbor freight stores not far from me. Might go with the Rockler setup knowing that if I want to expand in the future the cutout will...
I recently acquired a nice piece of office desktop that is 1 1/4" thick and heavy as all get out. Nice and flat. I am planning on using it for a router table top. Previously I just mounted the fixed...
The table without the wings is 20" wide and 32.5" deep. Little deeper then most saws for sure...
Bruce - Well the 2211 came out around 1960. Late 50s maybe. Hope mine looks as nice as this one when finished...
Noticed one of the handles had been welded too.
