I asked a couple of questions to help me on my journey with a cradle I built for my youngest daughter who is due in a month's time. I just finished the project and thought I'd post the...
Thanks again for the replies.
I measured the cradle bed length and compared it to the length between the pivot points on the leg assembly. The bed is, in fact, 5/16" short - better than 5/16"...

Thanks for the replies. It is not feasible to drill out and put the nut on the other side. I have installed it per the instructions.
Well, it's not exactly a t-nut. It is part of a cradle pivot hinge that installs in the bed of the cradle and the pivot bolt screws into the 'nut'. You can see it here...
Thanks, that sounds like a good plan and it sounds like it would be stronger.
Yeah. I'm also skeptical about the castors;)

So my daughter is pregnant with baby #1 and she has announced that she really likes the Lulu cradle by designer Nanna Ditzel. https://brdr-kruger.com/en/products/lulu-cradle I've always thought...
The problem you are likely experiencing is 'cam out' where the phillips drive slots get stripped out. Vermont American makes a drive bit called the Icebit. It has ribs along the driver blades to help...
I would incorporate a 'lazy susan' into the design - makes it alot easier to rotate the board.

Welcome, Greg.
As for the bandsaw, you should check out a great Canadian classified website for woodworkers at http://www.workshopbuzz.com/class/

Since my thread was hijacked, I'll start over....
I'm assuming that if you used a 45 degree lateral wye or tee-on-taper designed for spiral pipe (like this...
I'm assuming that if you used a 45 degree lateral wye or tee-on-taper designed for spiral pipe (like this http://www.airhand.com/product.asp?CategoryID=6&SubCategoryID=24) that you'd have to crimp...
It appears that there are 2 types of wyes available - those with crimping on one end, and those without. Are the 2 types interchangeable?

I'm finally getting around to starting my ductwork installation for my Dust Gorilla. A couple questions....
1. Are Spiral pipe and snaplock pipe and fittings interchangeable? I notice on the...
Another vote for the DowelMax - the $350 is hard to come up with, but it is extremly well engineered and crafted. It is a bargain once you start to use it. I really like it panel glue-ups.

I've benn a fan of olfa utility knives for quite a number of years. The H-1 with the extra heavy duty blades is wonderful for general construction work, with frequent forays into woodworking. I use...
I would consider adding a short 'shelf' above the junction of cabinet tops and the bulkhead. Run the shelf across to span the gap between cabinets. Add a decorative vertical spacer panel between...
Have you already purchased the supplies? If not, I'm wondering if you are overbuilding it with 3/4" MDF skins. Check out a hollow core door -- a wonderful torsion box. It's made with cardboard strips...
I moved my Delta Unisaw into the basement using a hand truck and a friend. Make sure the truck is rated for the weight load. You can rent an appliance hand truck with built-in strap, but I used a...
Yup, I'd be happy to send the measured drawings to anyone who is interested -- just send me a private message with your email address. The file is 1,023KB and it is in Adobe PDF format.
The...
Thanks, Art, for the tips on posting pics...I'll try that next time.
Yup, bolted pretty securely through 1/2 inch back.

Now it’s time to mount the cone. Son-in-law is still slumbering  . I fought off the urge to take a nap, and plunged forward. With the cone resting on the trusty WorkMate, I worked in...

So now I put the cyclone barrel/vortex tube assembly up on my WorkMate, and run upstairs to fetch the strapping son-in-law. He’s fast asleep on the sofa. Hmmmn. How can I connect...

After reading Oneida’s warnings and multiple posts at SMC about not trying to be a ‘cowboy’ and lifting the blower assembly by myself, I borrowed my strapping son-in-law to help. I used...

I physically measured the height of every piece of my dust collector to make sure the measured plans supplied matched the product in my hands (turns out Oneida was only 1/4 inch off!). I...
