Geez, how come I never find good stuff like that?
I believe you just won the prize for the biggest forgotten tool. Hard to misplace one of those!
It's so annoying to open a drawer and find a tool you just replaced! I try to stay organized, but it's a losing battle.
Do you even have to ask if this is a dumbed down society!
I am amazed at the number of people who cheerfully share personal information with the world - just look at the kinds of things posted on...
I use application tape from Sign Warehouse on veneer. It almost completely prevents chipping/tearout and it is very easy to remove. Another big advantage is that you can write/draw on it easily.
One nice thing about scroll saws is that they do not create all that much dust. I think it would be reasonable to use one in the house. The issue, as others have stated, is that the saw does have...
Thanks, John. There are quite a few members of my Norwegian family who have the same name. We seem to lack imagination.
That is amazing work for someone that young! I'd certainly be proud to have made such a nice piece.
I have a 5hp Delta that is about 20 years old and is excellent - plenty of rip capacity, folding outfeed table, Bies overarm guard. If, however, I was in the market for a new one, I'd buy a SawStop....
I don't know if any scroll saws are smaller than average. I have an RBI Hawk and love it. That said, it's on a stand that allows me to sit to use it and that stand takes up quite a bit of space.
The little Ridgid palm router is now my go-to router for inlay work and edge routing on small projects - also great for hinge mortises. It's only drawback is that it does not have a base that...
I finally finished a cabinet I started last fall in a class on veneering at Santa Fe Community College.

The cabinet frame is walnut veneer (bandsawn) on 1/2" Baltic birch. ...
I have the Biesmeyer overarm guard and love it. It is easily adjusted - it can be moved to the right when I am using a sled, moved to accommodate dado blades, etc.
Glad you posted this - I'll remember it when my router switch fails. I do like that router immensely, though. It's the one I use in my router table and for plunge routing almost all the time even...
Finally got back to the marquetry panel for the door of a small cabinet. The veneer on the first panel I made warped horribly when I glued it up. I tried to sand the wrinkles out but ended up...
It's monsoon season here in New Mexico, too. I have never done anything for my cast iron tables other than wax them to keep them slick. It's wonderful living in the dry Southwest instead of Houston!
Many of us started serious woodworking (as opposed to the household maintenance type) after we got much older because we could not afford good tools when we were younger and were too busy just...
I emailed him - he is not at all well and no longer makes the bases. I was sorry to hear he was so ill.
Thank you Nick!
Has anyone found or made a base for the little Rigid router that will accommodate Porter Cable template guides? (or any template guide?) I really like that little router for delicate work, but...
Ouch! I hope you eventually meet some reasonable women, including some who, like me, love woodworking.
It's really cruel to gloat like that! I have two mesquite boards that I am carefully saving for some very special project. I paid a fortune for them.
I'm 76. I wonder who will end up with all my woodworking tools. My daughter is quite handy, but she mostly does home maintenance and update; she does not make furniture. She does know that I have...
I agree with Andrew. I would not want to run those on any of my equipment - too likely to have sand or metal in them.
