I got the blades you suggested, slowed the speed down, and made sure the precision control button was pressed and it worked fine. Cut the 1&1/4 oak straight.

You need to search for disease of red tip. I know in my area they are prone to disease and most people have quit trying to grow them.

I do not believe varnish is recommended for cutting boards. Watco Butcher Block oil and finish is recommended as long lasting.
I mis read the label. I have the same saw and am more than satisfied with it. If you will go to this site you can find real good help on setting the saw up....
If that picture is your saw it has 3660 on the label which is the granite saw and is the newest ridgid.
