Brian McEvoy sells plans for a LARGE captive rig. I built it and think it's great and well worth the $15 for the detailed blueprints IMHO.

I have the Vicmarc 5 1/2 and love it. No complaints at all.

I had the exact problem with my Ist 1.25x8 tpi Nova insert, not even the cheap one. Swapped out the insert (@no charge fortunately) and problem solved.
