Well, after a proper cleaning and good whack or four with the rubber mallet (I'll try the wood block next), it falls back out when I begin to use the extension and forstner.

I don't use my DP350 much; maybe 20 times in the last 3 years. Today, I was using it to rough cut two large mortises using an extension and a forstner when the chuck just fell our of the machine.

Here's what I've got so far -
I jambed the rough opening with select pine from a big box store. The door is heavier than a bag of bricks so I glued up 2 - 1*6s and ripped them down to a 4.5"...
I went to the arc salvage joint today and found a good idea. I'm going to use old bird bath bottoms. I'll be able to work concrete into the design, and they look exactly like what I was needing. ...

I'll be building a workbench this weekend myself. Coincidentally, the design advice suggested the following for a circsaw guide and that is the main reason I'm here right now:

The price would definitely have to come down, and I think you just dissuaded me from my purchase.
One of the tidbits I learned while researching this machine was that it was part of a liability...
Thanks Ron. I'll find that forum and see what the consensus is.
