I use it for just that purpose. I mounted the top of my Sjobergs bench on the Adjust-a-bench. My bench is parallel to my table saw, on the outfeed side of the saw. I notched a couple of 4' 1x4s so...
Would you use epoxy garage floor paint, or is there another kind of epoxy paint?

You could cut it to rough length with a chain saw, then wrap a frame around the end for a router to ride on. That would get it square, but it would still be a pain.
