Sounds like you will have a nice shop.
You could do it on the bandsaw, but since it is round you want to have a keeper to hold it so that it is not ripped out of your hands. I then drove some brads into the both sides of two board and...
Looks very good and very 3 dimensional.
Language does change with the times, but punctuation and grammar remain pretty much the same. The book "Eats, Shoots and Leaves" is an interesting discussion of the loss of punctuation and grammar. ...
You should check the brushes sold by the Golden nib. He has a nice assortment, great customer service and is a turner. www.thegoldennib.com
He also sells shaving, as well as, cosmetic brushes, parts...
I think that the goblet is very nice looking, but that the stem is too large proportionally to the cup.
Received a beautiful blue truestone pen from Jon Lanier. I will try to post a picture tomorrow.
That is a very beautiful piece.
There is a turner named Smitty over on IAP, he is also on Ebay. His prices are less then PSI. I will contact him and see what he can do price wise for this effort.
I will send some pens in by the...
I would like in on this one.
I think you should get rid of it and send it to people who want to waste their time making beautiful bowls out of it. LOL.
Look real pretty to me and I bet it makes great bowls.
I have made several of the circuit board pens. I round the square end with 80 grit sand paper or cut the edge off with my band saw. Then it doesn't chip as easily. If I do get a chip I put medium...
I really like it a lot. It shows off the stoppers easily and lets all of them be visible.
I personally think it would be a accident waiting to happen. Use a skew or bowl gouge or as Burt Marsh said at a session use sand paper for that final finish. He even used 80 to make the subtle...
Real pretty bowl. I like the contrast between the lid and the bowl.
I really like turning hackberry. If it is spalted you can soak it in Minwax hardener and it helps it not fly apart as easily. It makes very beautiful pens and small bowls.
Jonathan, your pen arrived today. It is very nice. Thank you.
Jonathan sent me a Coffee bean . the blank has a pick hue to it. I will post a picture tomorrow. Had oral surgery today and not...
The bowls are really beautiful, but it is the shop that I am most covetous of wanting. Both real purty.
Finished pen sent to Jonathan on Monday. Don't know how USPS will take to get it to Canada. Hope it is not long. All of the pens looks great. I really like pen exchanges.
Really nice piece. I like the natural pieces and the inclusions. The red streaking is quite nice.
Congratulations, what a great honor.:)
I'd like to participate.
I use a shop apron from Woodcraft and for turning I use a smock from IAP
If you run your lathe faster then 200 rpm, use strips of paper towel, a glove on your hand and lightly apply the CA to the towel and move it along the bottom of the pen as it is turning you will get...
