So, I'm working with an allergist right now because my lungs are funky and I'm fairly certain it's the dust in my shop causing chronic bronchitis. I do have a very nice dust collector from...
Thank you for all the input! Excellent advice about the shelf life as well. I don't do much hammer veneering, but I use hide glue any time I need a period-appropriate adhesive, which is actually...
I normally buy the Titebond Hide Glue(too lazy to get out my glue pot), but I recently saw...
This is sort of what I was thinking.
Morning!
My Ceros needs a new backing pad. The instruction manual calls for part number "916GV15" which I am able to find. However, I also found a pad for this unit(with of course a different...
I've got a festool track saw and a dust vacuum but I'd like to use a cheaper flex hose to attach the vacuum to the track saw. You all are genius with workarounds(read: my MM planer/jointer hookup)...
Is yours a single stage Jim?

I did have a thread a while ago, but I know new models come out, and at this point, I'm definitely making a purchase. So, it's just me here, and another guy 2 days a week. In the future, I'd like a...
I have a gauge but no clue how to use it. I've watched videos until my eyes bleed. Spray a coat and touch the gauge - one reading, turn it and touch - another reading. Sometimes 2 mils, sometimes...
Do you have a link? Yes, it is dry.
We refinish a lot of furniture in our shop - it's probably 50% or more of our business. I recently decided to switch from Nitro Lacquer to WB finishes for many reasons, healthiness being the...
White glue as in Elmer's School Glue???
What was your bad experience with cold press?
I'll be veneering a panel soon. I've veneered multiple panels int he past using cold press(better bond) veneer glue and a vacuum bag. I was searching around on here a moment ago and came to a...
Thanks for the description John. I guess you vacuum the whole shop really good the day before? How do you prevent sawdust from entering on your shoes? I like the tent idea. I really, really like...
Damn. just damn. OK, this makes sense. I've just got to always spray outside. I hope one day I can scale my business up and get a bigger shop with a real spray booth - that would be a game...
Jim, I'm referring to a final coat. Once you knock off the nibs, you've got a finish that is not uniform(at least I do). Of course, the 400g leaves a duller area where you've removed the...
Good to know Jim - thanks! I ordered some 6000 which I've used. I also got some of the universal sanding sealer to try, and I got some of the water based/hybrid shellac product. Hey, I'm used to...
Curious what you all are doing before the Target 6000. Do you use their universal sanding sealer as well?
Cool deal, and thank you. Man... what a stinking hassle!
Hey Jim, what does your 5" flex hose connect to on the opposite end? I've got 6" S&D piping which was going to end with a 6"- 4" reducer. That plan is scrapped at this point. I'll grab that rubber...
Another excellent picture - thank you. What prevents that hose clamp on the fernco fitting from collapsing the flex hose? Or is it just on there sort of lightly snug?
OK, I'm almost there. So what keeps that hose clamp from collapsing the fernco fitting?
Ahhhhh. Ok. So you cut part of the coupler off. It acts as the duct tape to bring the dust port up to size. Right? And the 5” coupler fits? Straight 5”?
