You might try creating a square using your machines native software, and cutting that, to prove that your machine is set up correctly. You may have to make adjustments to the step counts of the...
I have a 10lb CO2 extinguisher in my shop for the laser, and a 10lb powder type if things really get out of hand.
It sounds like you have a challenging problem, maybe you have input power problems.
Are you using a 220volt to 110volt converter? Those have been known for causing problems.
i would suggest...
My guess would be that they used a rubber based paint. Laser etched away the background, then soda blasted the material to remove the char.
Thats my guess, and I’m sticking to it.

Like Chris said, contact your local welding supplier and have them help get you up and running. They “want” your business.
My day job is outside sales for a welding supplier.
I service a small...
Steve,
Help me understand the attached picture with tape and your alignment test.
All of the burn holes seem to have a burned circle around them, is that the case?
Thanks, Scott
Very nice project.
I’m guessing that you loosen up the mounting bolts on the table and slide it out of the way whe not in use.
I’m really interested in the conveyor and it’s different functions....
I was thinking that or the upper limit switch is engaged.

Congrats, now the Fun begins.
Enjoy,

Just throw a tarp over your laser when not in use. A little dust is not a real big deal.

I ship to Canada USPS Priority Mail, it’s kind of a pain in the butt for filling out the forms, although they are on line.
For a one off, you may want to recommend that he find someone local....
Steve,
Great choice on machine, I have been very happy with mine.
Let me take a stab at this, I think Ray is telling you that the machine will come with a 6” hose for exhaust and if you have a 6”...
Justin,
I have a CAD program and Corel Draw, although I mostly use my CAD program since I am designing and cutting fabric patterns with my laser that I save in dxf format, Corel would be more...
Justin,
As you may start to see from your research, that laser work is kind of the easy part, learning how to design and use CAD is more time consuming. As others have suggested, make your designs...
You might take a trip to your local hardware store, mine carries a cabinet of miscellaneous brushes for hand tools.
You might find one that could be sanded to the correct dimension, the small ones...
Maybe I missed something, but since you tried this same file at different locations on your table and got the same fault, could the file be corrupt? Can you try a different file to test the machines...
This just reminded me that I picked up a piece of 1/2” x 1/2” acrylic grid from Home Depot lighting department, a few years ago. You could lay your screen on it and it would allow airflow and catch...
I’m hitting my third year with my machine, and I only use it a few times a week to cut fabric for my sewing business, I’m so glad that I purchased the largest machine that I could fit through my...
Sale it in the classified section here. I don’t know what State you are in, but if you were within driving distance from me I would gladly buy it from you, chances are, that others might want it....
Kinda my thoughts.
50 is one of the big birthdays with lots of celebrations, 51 is just another nail in the coffin. LOL

If you just need material to play with, check your local hardware store for brass stock. I’m in the Pacific Northwest and our Ace Hardware carries that material.

In situations like this I would find out what the current New price is then decide what percentage this machine would fall into, for example 60% of new??

It looks like you need to determine if you have a power output problem or a software issue.
Can you set up a vector cut job to verify that you have good power?
