I used Marine Spar Varnish on my Mahagony door that got the afternoon sun. It has held up for over 5 years. I would post a picture but we moved fro that house earlier this year.
I just moved in January and packed my complete shop in one 16x16x8' POD. I took the mobile bases out from under everything and used rachet straps to hold them to the rails in the POD walls. The POD...
I use a leather apron made by the Woodworker Academy in Alameda CA. Lots of pockets to hold small tools etc and all of them have flaps to keep out the sawdust.

Just about to go outside and mow the yards. Tomorrow I am going on a poker run on my scooter which will take up most of the day. I will then spend some time in the shop sanding and hopefully getting...
I have the honor of moving my parents back to our town this weekend. I am excited to have them close after 20 years of them moving around the states. They are in their eighties and have decided it...
I agree with Ken on all points except that you need to leave room between the compressor and the initial filter to allow for the air to cool off and the water to condensate so the filter will catch...
Hey Sascha,
Just caught the video. Thanks for the tour. You might just win the "He who has the most toys" saying. Let us see some pics when you are finished with the DC.

Sascha,
That is looking great. I have been considering a tankless heater when I replace mine. Didn't think about the added space for tools. Very Cool.

I have had the Jet Jointer and have zero issues with the unit. I do plan on upgrading to a larger unit when I can.
When you are truing and squaring lumber, you must joint a face flat. If you...
Greg,
I will start this by saying I am biased. I work for Coilhose the manufacturer of Flexeel. It is a virgin Polyurethane product made in Oregon and New Jersey. All new hose has a memory...
Just finished a class at the Woodworker Academy in Alameda CA. We made a Tool Chest. Still needs some final sanding and its finish. Will post pictures soon. As an aside, great school and great...
Jeff,
If you are using an Oil and Varnish mix finish like Velvit Oil or Danish oil you do not need to remove the wax with anything. The finish will disolve the wax.

I do exactly as Glenn said. Love my Grippers and MJ Splitter.

I have used it for the stated purpose and it works well. It works extremely well for inside corners. Just let the glue set for thirty minutes and then pop it off with an old chisel. If you are...
Sascha,
I am looking forward to seeing your new machine when I pick up your old one. (Stealth Gloat). I understand your space issues as I share my shop (2 car garage) with my wifes convertible...
I just purchased a 22 guage stapler and the little I have fired it up to test it was very sweet.
Bob
Sascha,
Once again your natural talent shines through.
Bob
Have it, Love it, Would buy it again in a heart beat

I have made several boxes in that style and size. Just glue it and forget it. I have had zero problems. Glue is strong and the box is too small to worry about wood movement.
Bob
David,
Welcome to the SMC from Modesto. Sacramento MAchinery is a great place and you have picked a great saw. I second the opinion of the Jointech Digital router lift with a PC7518 installed...
I too sometimes leave an extra 1/32 from the tablesaw and run one pass over the jointer. Less sanding that way. I agree that there is no one way things must happen, it just sounded like you were...
Mike,
You now have me drooling, Why did you go with the 125 instead of the 150?
Bob
Mike,
The white push sticks you have are for face jointing. You need to get or make a couple of narrow push sticks like the orange ones in this link...
Just this weekend I cut a bunch of thin strips that we 1/2 x 9/16. I have done this for very thin strips also. The ridges you are getting is more than likely because of too fast a feed speed. I...
