It was something I have wanted to build since retiring in 2004. After I got a new TS to replace an old craftsman, and a Dewalt planer, I felt I was ready to tackle it.
I used a locking rabbet joint for the drawers. It's an easy joint to make and very strong. Much of the construction is tongue and groove. The finish is tung oil, 2 coats.
I originally posted the construction of the chest on another forum, but wanted to share it here as well. I'm very proud of the tool chest, and know that it will be passed down through the generations.
