    Remote control doors

I'm building a cabinet with remote control doors (using an electric motor) Does anyone have any experience or know of any sources for low cost remote control DC or AC motors? Thanks, John

I've used small AC gearmotors for opening and closing high windows in a clerestory. I bought them from http://www.electricmotorwarehouse.com/ who were the only guys I could find with the proper size and RPM. I didn't notice until after installing them that the sent one that was the wrong RPM (1/2 speed of the other). The motors work well though, and they have a good selection.

How big is the cabinet? The weight and size of the door determines how large of a servo or motor you need to operate it. Do you need wireless operation, or just a button? Do you need a self contained unit or do you intend to build something yourself? Do they just need to open/close when triggered, or do they need to operate with proportional control? Give some more details or PM me and I'll give you some ideas.
