Thread: Spray Room Advice

  1. Spray Room Advice

    Hello all,

I'm finally getting rebuilt after the hurricane, and took the opportunity to rebuild bigger - I'm now setting up a modest but much improved 18x21 shop. I want to go room. My initial thought was to do it in a corner, with 2 walls coming off square to the main walls, then connect them with a 45 degree wall/doorway (sort of like a corner closet shaped like half a hexagon). I think that shape would give me some good space without disprupting the floorplan of the rest of the shop too much.

    so,

    1) what do you guys think is a good size and shape given my parameters, and do you have any other suggestions?

    2) i'm going to set up a filter bank/fan to draw the overspray/vapors and send them outside (either via a pipe to the roof or through a louver/dryer vent out the wall). What is a good way to reduce down from the fan to a smallish pipe? HVAC connectors and plywood?

    The larger the fan...

...the faster you eleminate the overspray, and the heat from your shop.
