    chair ID - help needed

During our recent relocation the movers lost some of our dining room chairs among other items. I'm tyring to identify them so their insurance can start trying to find replacements or something. I'm suspecting they are early colonial but ???? Maple construction and the table is long with leaves that fold up lengthwise when down sort of like a buffet.

    Thanks!

    Dewayne,

I think this is a version of what's called a captain's chair, a style popularized in the 19th century. The legs are interesting; I've never seen those knobbed feet on a captain's chair.

Top is a captains arm chair and the bottom is a mates side chair.
