Gettong ready to buy a dust collector.

    Hi,
I am ready to buy a Oneida system for my shop. I am torn between the 2.5 HP and 3 HP system. I like the saving's in energy use one would get from the 2.5 hp system but will have one run around 40 feet. Will it have enough to pull the cfm's at that distance?
    Thanks,
    Jack

Jack, Oneida will design your system for free, and they will only sell you as much as you require.

You need to make a sketch of your shop with your machines shown on the sketch.

Make a list of your machines, and their sizes, for example 20 inch planer, 10 inch table saw.

They will then calculate the sizes of piping you need, as well as the size of the cyclone.

You may well only need a 2 HP machine, however this is the way to go.

There's no point guessing, it's an engineering exercise.

    regards, Rod.

P.S. For your tablesaw, add enough capacity for an overhead guard, don't repeat my mistake.

P.P.S. I'm a long time, very pleased Oneida customer.

    Dust collector

    Hi Jack,

I have a 3hp Oneida, and my shop is 750 sq ft. My main line is 8" and all others are 6". My longest run is about 40 ft. I did my own design and it worked out great. If I had it to do over again I would buy the 3hp again. It has a lot of sucking power...

    Sam
