    Maple (?) Bowl

Hate to incorrectly identify wood but think this is a piece of maple. Overall size is 5.5"x3". Nice little worm hole on the rim that I was lucky enough to keep in the final turning. Two coats of antique oil with no finish buffing. Again scraper usage is on the upswing and becoming easier. Any and all comments are welcome.

Allen - pretty bowl! Not sure what kind of wood you have here but I don't think it is maple. At least it has a different grain than any of the maple that I have turned. No matter...... Nice work on this one as well! Pretty cool that you were able to retain the worm hole in the rim - adds a lot of character to the piece! Nice work - keep it up!

Great work on a pretty bowl. Kinda reminds me of the cherry bowl I just did.

I did a little research on my wood supply and that is a black cherry...not maple. Bernie, you were right on the mark.
