Yet another table saw choices thread

Hi, I'm relatively new here, been lurking and learning a lot.

I thought about posting this in this similar thread, but my power situation is a bit different and I didn't want to get in the way.

I'm contemplating the Steel City 35675 from the Woodsmith Store for $750 + tax. I'm local so $0 for shipping.

I'd need to add a 230V circuit, but that's not much of a barrier.

    My question is simple:
In the $750 range, is there any other saw I should consider or is the SC the clear winner?

    Thanks,
    Scott

You may want to watch craigslist in your area. There are a lot of nice used cabinet saws out there, especially with the economy the way it is now

$750 for a 3hp hybrid design to your door...."no", and "yes". (IMHO that's a pretty compelling value on a very nice capable saw).

    Scott:
    Thanks for the validation

    John:
I've been watching Craigslist for months and have seen almost no cabinet saws - there was a rusty Powermatic 65 for $1450 - I assume it's still available.

I've been window shopping for a Steel City saw for months. The best I can get that model for is $899 plus $125 shipping.

The comparable 3hp Grizzly model will be about $1200 to your door.

I myself would jump on it at that price.

That's less than I got my 35670 for. Take it.
