We are leaving for Tucson Az. Tomorrow. We get to get out of Ohio winter for 9 days! This is a gift for my wife's sister that puts us up. Of course we will help pay for expenses also. The sides of the box are solid wood (Paldao from the Philippines). The corners of the sides are mitered and glued with hot hide glue. The top and bottom are let into dadoes. The top is veneered over baltic birch plywood. The star and halo are Satinwood, The dress is dyed birds eye maple, The face, feet, and hands are Pear, The wings are English Sycamore, and the background is Mesquite. The underside of the lid is Mesquite also. The bottom of the box is Zebra wood veneer over mdf.
