Built a cell phone valet for a family member's office, slots in the back and under the velvet padding to run power cords. Includes a small box compartement and slot in the back for envelopes.
fun weekend project, made of jatoba and maple. I saw something similar on a differnt board and used that design as a basis.

That's a good looking project and idea.
It’s only work if somebody makes you do it.
A day can really slip by when you're deliberately avoiding what you're supposed to do.

We have a wicker basket on a bookshelf with all of the wires ran behind the books and through the bottom of the shelf into the basket. Phones go in the basket overnight, and we never see any wires/chargers.
The hard part was that I had to build the bookshelves so I had a place for the basket.
