    19 century walnut mirrors re-do

Tim, I took several more pictures and the walnut still is not showing up very good. I did the scroll work with a De Walt scroll saw. I cut the patterns out of Mirrors & picture frames by John Nelson. I resized them until I got them to the size I wanted. The wood the scroll work is on is about 3/8 of an inch thick and I used spray on adhesive to attach it to the wood, which seems to work better than tracing the pattern onto the wood. Made a sub frame out of 5/8 inch thick by 1 inch wide poplar and used lap joints in the corners. I squared it up on all four sides and cut the sub frame down to 3/4 inch wide so the one inch molding will hold the mirror in from the front side. I cut a dado 1/4 inch wide and a 1/4 inch deep for the top and the ears to fit into after putting a 1/4 inch rabbit on them. Thanks for the reply. Barry Bruner
