    Carved cherry on walnut platter

This is my first try at carving. Took a class with Mike Kehs and this is the project I worked on. Size is 14" for Walnut platter. Enjoy! George

Very nice, George. Is the carving ON the platter or inlaid to the platter? Either way, you did real good.

Very interesting piece George! Great job on the carving! I like the mix of the two woods - work well together!

    Simply beautiful

George, I love to carve but have gotten away from it over the years. Your platter has given some more drive to get one done that I have started to lay out the design. Your combo of 2 of my favorite woods is great!

    Good work,

    Jeff

    PLatter

This was a cherry platter I brought to a carving class by Mike Kehs. After the class I was going to use another cherry platter to mount it to . My better half told me to turn a walnut one to mount the cherry carving on to. She was right as always! Thanks for looking! George
