Quick Mirror Frame from scrap wood

My friend has a house in the country that he will be selling and he needed a mirror in the bathroom. He provided the mirror itself, and I made the frame with some old #3 pine scraps I salvaged out of a tear-down house a few years ago. It is modeled after another mirror he has and likes. This one was maybe 3 hours of work. The frame members are 1/2 lapped and glued. The mouldings are glued and nailed on. The pins are purely decorative (scrap dowel). I sawed them off close and left them a bit proud for some texture. One flood of BLO and then 3 coats of satin lacquer.

I made the mouldings on the router table. It wa a bit tricky figuring out how to wrap the corner (from the front to the short side section). I had to glue on a short 25° wedge to the top of each side, then it was simply of 45° miter.

Nothing fancy - just haven't posted in a while. Enjoy. Todd
